I used to have a love/hate relationship with the change in seasons. I loved certain seasons and definitely wasn’t fond of others. Over time, and especially through my love for photography, I’ve learned to find an appreciation for all seasons, and feel fortunate we’re able to experience all four seasons in Canada.
I love the pastel colours of spring, and the feeling of fresh new beginnings. I enjoy incorporating colour in my work and being able to capture the comprehensive palette of everything that’s blossoming in nature during that time of the year. One of my favourite places to visit during spring is the Canadian Tulip Festival in Ottawa.

In the summer, my photography becomes brighter with the additional hours of sunlight. One of my favourite places to visit during that time is Cape Breton Island. The drive along the Cabot Trail is spectacular, with many stops along the way to take in the breathtaking views and connect with nature. I must also admit I love the delicious fresh seafood of the East Coast!

Autumn brings my preferred seasonal palette to my photos with its shades of brown, yellow, red, and orange. One of my favourite places to visit during that time of the year is Quebec. I recently visited the regions of Charlevoix, Saguenay, and Quebec City. The vibrant autumn colours, along with the small-town charm, helped bring my images to life!
Last but not least, there’s winter, with its cool and bright colour palette. I love capturing the beauty of winter in the Canadian Rockies, and always enjoy visiting Jasper, Lake Louise, and Banff during that time to experience a true Canadian winter and some fun activities. But of course, that region is beautiful in every season!
Living in Toronto, I also enjoy taking city shots in the snow, particularly after a fresh blanket of snow has beautified everything it covers. This past winter, I had the opportunity to take photos of the one and only Drake, during what felt like the city’s coldest night of the year. It was an experience that made me even more appreciative of this frigid yet beautiful season.
